Community Tool Kit (CTK) 1.3

CTK provides standardized, configured, and tested WordPress themes and plugins for improved Dynamic Digital Community experiences within the GeoPlatform ecosystem. In R13, the “GeoPlatform Community Search” plugin is now available through the WordPress marketplace as are the “GeoPlatform Maps” and “GeoPlatform Search” plugins. The Community Search plugin has been enhanced to support filtering by keyword and theme.

In addition to updates to the CTK plugins, the CTK 1.3 distribution has been updated for completely refactored themes: the CCB Theme “version 3” baseline (the default theme) and the NGDA Theme “version 3”. Significant feature enhancements for themes include: 1) custom category and community posts, 2) the ability to control the presentation order of featured cards, 3) customize-able menu. The CTK enhancements are designed to ensure best-practices for security and compatibility with a broad range of 3rd-party themes, plugins, and customizations.

The WordPress review and approval process ( is used to ensure all plugins meet basic standards and follow best practices and thus are broadly usable in WordPress and compatible with 3rd-party components. The open source PHP code makes the CTK plugins doubly useful as examples for creating your own custom plugins and for how to use the GeoPlatform Open API.
